Why we will not sell ranked position. The only reason a buyer trusts this ranking is that nobody bought it. The moment placement is purchasable, the ranking stops being worth reading, and a placement on a list nobody trusts is worth nothing to you either. Keeping the ranking clean is what makes everything else here sellable.

The search argument, stated plainly

Most agents think about search as ranking for "Markham real estate agent". That is a hard, expensive fight and a directory profile will not win it for you.

The search that actually converts is your own name. Someone gets your card at an open house, or a friend mentions you, and the first thing they do is search you. What they find decides whether you get the call. Right now that result page is built out of profiles on directories you do not control, brokerage pages that all look the same, and whatever social accounts happen to rank.

A profile here is an independent third party page, carrying RealEstateAgent structured data, verified reviews and your public responses to them, that competes for that result. It works because it is not your own website saying you are good. That is the product.

It is worth being clear that this takes time and depends on this site building its own authority. Anyone promising you fast ranking gains from a directory listing is selling you something they cannot deliver.

How Sponsored placement is displayed

Sponsored agents appear in a bordered block, below the ranked list, headed with the word Sponsored. The block itself carries a line saying the placement was paid for and has no effect on the ranking above. Sponsored cards never show a rank number.

We use the word Sponsored rather than Featured or Premium on purpose. Soft labels are how other directories blur paid and organic, and readers have learned to distrust them.

Sponsored slots are available on any of our 12 neighbourhood pages, capped at two per page so the block cannot swamp the content.

Getting started

Claim your free profile. Verification is by brokerage domain email, or manually against the public RECO register.
Complete it. Profile completeness is one of the six ranking components, so filling it in genuinely helps, and it costs nothing.
Start collecting verified reviews from past clients. This is the single biggest lever on your ranked position and it is free.

Our advice, even though it costs us a sale. Do the free version properly first. A complete profile with a dozen verified reviews will do more for you than any paid tier attached to an empty one.

Common questions

Can I pay to rank higher?

No, and this is enforced in code rather than by policy. The ranking function cannot read the commercial tier field at all, and an automated check fails the build if it ever could. Every agent is ordered by the same published formula. If we sold ranked position, the ranking would be worthless to the buyers and sellers who read it, which would make the placement worthless to you.

Do I get a link to my website that helps my SEO?

You get a link, and it carries rel="sponsored nofollow" because Google requires that on paid links. We will not sell you a followed link. Google treats paid followed links as a link scheme, and the penalty risk falls on the buyer as well as the seller. Selling you something that could get your own site demoted is not a product, it is a liability. The genuine search value here is different and it is described below.

So what is the actual SEO benefit?

Your name. Searches like "your name reviews" and "your name realtor Markham" are run constantly by people who have already met you and are checking you out before they commit. Today those results are owned by directories you have no control over. A profile here is a page you can shape, on an independent site, that competes for your own name SERP and shows verified reviews with your responses attached. That is worth more than a nofollow link, and it is honest.

Can I have a bad review removed?

No, at any price. You can respond publicly to every review, and responding is one of the six ranking components, weighted the same whether you are replying to praise or to criticism. If a review breaches the published guidelines you can dispute it and we will assess it. We do not remove reviews because the subject dislikes them, and no tier changes that.

Is a free listing permanently free?

Yes. Being listed and being ranked costs nothing and always will. If listing were paid, this would be a paid directory rather than a ranking, and we would have to say so on every page. Paid tiers add profile features and labelled Sponsored placement on top of a free listing.

How much traffic does the site get?

We will tell you honestly when you ask, including when the answer is small. This site is new. It competes against established directories and building organic visibility takes time. We would rather you buy in with accurate expectations than churn in three months, so ask for the current numbers before you commit.
